1 Win’s Better Then Nothing…

Ok…so we couldn’t take the series, but at least we won the last game (I’m looking on the bright side). I mean it is the Yankees after all…the odds weren’t stacked in our favor. And to add to it, Ellis, who’s bat has been on fire was out for almost an entire week because of a pulled hamstring, and now he’s in the 15 day disabled list. And boy do we need him back. But in all honesty…only the 1st game was bad as far as our performance goes…too many walks, home runs, errors, etc. Even though we lost the 2nd game…it was only by 1. So to take the win in the last game was a much needed surprise. And for now we are back in first place. Well technically we were always there, but we had to share it last night with the Mariners, which I wasn’t thrilled with. So as of today we are back on top…even if it is by 1/2 a game. But hopefully we can get back into the game and start winning again.

Go A’s!!

Dear AL West Teams…

Dear Texas, LAA Angels, & the Mariners:

I would greatly appreciate it if you all could lose your upcoming games. Us A’s fans like seeing our team in first place. Its been a rare sight these past couple of seasons, but we would like to stay in first all season. I don’t think I’m asking for a lot.

Thank you,
Opinion4athletics

** On a side note…Sheets just got his first win of the season! He played so much better compared to his last 2 starts….Congrats Sheets. And great night for Barton as well…2 doubles!

Go A’s!!

A New Rule…

There should be a rule in MLB where if you were a former A’s player then you can’t score against us…let alone a 3-Run HR when the score is 0-0 and we are having a pretty good pitching dual.

Thanks a lot Milton Bradley!

Brett Anderson did very well tonight, we just needed some runs, any runs! But sadly we didn’t score a single run tonight. Come on boys, lets get back in the game and play like we have been playing this season.

Go A’s!

Old A’s Join the AL West

Well it looks like we will be seeing some familiar faces this season, but sadly they will be playing against us. So far, we’ve seen Eric Byrnes, Milton Bradley, and Mike Sweeney on the Mariners alone (and we’ve already played them twice!) Didn’t the season just start?

For me, the weirdest was seeing Byrnes, I still picture him in an A’s jersey playing outfield for us. Last I heard he was with the Diamondbacks. Lucky for him though, since his contract isn’t up yet with them, he’s getting paid by Arizona for this season along with the Mariners….NICE!

Also, in watching today’s game, I overheard Harden’s name get brought up. As I quickly turned the water off in the sink to run over and turn the volume up on the TV, I found out that Harden is now with the Rangers! When did this happen? The good thing is us A’s fans will get to see him more….I wish we never traded him and Haren (but that’s another story). The bad thing is he will  be playing against us.

Well day 2 of our series against the Mariner’s is tomorrow…and Duke did great today in the series opener.

Go A’s

Why Everidge???

So I’m reading today’s local paper and I notice a picture of Tommy Everidge at the bottom of the page. To my suprise I read and found out that he was picked up by the Mariners! I really must have read the article wrong on the A’s website a few months ago, because I thought he was still with us, just with our minor league teams…my mistake.

So sadly Tommy is no longer with our team, which I’m upset with because he was a great player who didn’t get enough time to show us everything he could do. But one things for sure he can hit the long ball. In fact in the article I read, he hit a Grand Slam yesterday for the Mariners!

I’m not sure why the A’s got rid of him, and I probably never will. But that’s just me being partial to him since he’s a local boy.

Well luckily we play the Mariners enough we will get to see him as long as he makes the team…which I hope he does. Treat him well Seattle….it’s “Tommy Time”

Just our Luck…

Okay, it’s bad enough when we lose to Seattle, but when we lose to a pitcher that’s a local boy…that’s rough! Usually you would want to chear on a local guy, but not when they’re the opposing pitcher and beating my A’s. I will admit though, Morrow pitched a great game tonight, so much in fact we couldn’t get a single run in! Heck we didn’t even get a hit until the 4th inning, thanks to Davis. Now this is not the A’s we’ve been seeing during September….what happened?!? Sure it’s the end of the season, but let’s try and go out with a bang.

Then to top off the night, Griffey decides to repeat exactly what he did to us last night. Last night he hit a 3 Run Homer against Cahill early in the game, and I swear I thought I was having Deja Vu, because he hit another 3 Run Homer against Mortensen tonight! Are you kidding me here? I mean honestly, we need to walk him from here on out whenever there are 2 runners on. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

On a better note, we only have to face Seattle tomorrow and then that’s it for the season, Go A’s!
